We have a beautiful, well–equipped rondavel (chalet).It has a double bed, but up to two children can also be accommodated if required.
The garden cottage is equipped with a double bed in the main bedroom and two single beds and extra mattress in the adjacent room. This facility offers a kitchenette and braai area.
This retreat is conveniently located in the scenic Eastern Cape, only 50 km west of Port Elizabeth, and close to the N2. The very popular beach resort, Jeffreys Bay, is only 35 km away to the southwest.
Take the N2, from Port Elizabeth towards Jeffreys Bay. 10 km after the Van Stadens River bridge, follow the turn–off to Hankey (R331). Drive another 3.5 km. Turn right at the Bergrivier signpost. Drive another 2.5 km along the gravel farm road. At the fork in the road, turn to your left to reach the guest facilities at the top of the hill.
From Jeffreys Bay take the N2 towards Port Elizabeth, 10 km after you have crossed the Gamtoos River, follow the turn–off to Hankey (R331). Drive 3.5 km and turn right at the Bergrivier signpost. Drive another 2.5 km along the gravel farm road. At the fork in the road, turn to your left to reach the guest facilities at the top of the hill.
This is a paradise for birdwatchers. The beautiful Knysna Loerie is seen quite often. At night you will hear the Night Jar calling.A Crowned Eagle nest can be found in a kloof close by, so you often see the eagle soaring over the hills. You can enjoy a hike in the veld or kloof, where you can see the endangered little fish, the Redwinged Minnow.
For the more adventurous, mountain biking can be arranged in the adjacent Longmore forest.
